A Far Away Home is about my journey to discovering my heritage and learning about my family and their history in Donegal, Ireland. My Nana Rose is my connection to my Irish family. She and my grandfather moved to Canada when she was in her twenties to start a new life, but she’s always had a strong connection to her family back home. To shoot this project, I spent some time with my extended relatives, who were more than happy to show me around their home. Despite meeting many of them for the first time on this trip, I felt right at home. Donegal is a very special place for my family, and my goal with these images was to capture the essence of life there, and my journey to learn more about where I came from.
