The Cowboy, the Soldier, and the Queer Body

Homoerotic art was created specifically for gay men, but it was not openly branded as such. Physique magazines were framed in a way to showcase what men and their masculinity should have looked like at the time.
Working with the ideas surrounding the queer experience, identity, sexuality, and masculinity, a cowboy, a soldier, and a queer body becomes a combination of all these topics. Using the series as an attempt to showcase new, contemporary standards of what masculinity currently is in the queer community. And engaging directly with the experiences from queer people today in my close circle, to focus on them within their spaces and their comfort levels. As an overall attempt to present the diversity of the current queer community and what it means to be queer today, from a true point of view perspective.
